The Threadmotifs Story
About Threadmotifs
Hi,
I am Sarina, a life long design-learner. I’m also the creator of SewGuide.com , where I’ve been sharing sewing tutorials and techniques for over 10 years. Embroidery has always been part of that world for me. First hand embroidery and then machine embroidery. Thread Motifs grew directly out of my years of writing sewing tutorials and wanting to embroider my own designs. I started digitizing embroidery designs for myself and now want to share them with you.
In the course of learning sewing, I realized the part I loved most wasn’t just completing the sewing project – it was adding the tiny details that made it feel unmistakably mine.
A little embroidered sprig on a cuff.
A moon stitched onto a pocket. An large artistic painterly flower embroidery design on a tote bag I made.
Something that made a handmade clothing or a store bought one feel personal.
Your sewing project already carries a story : Embroidery is just the signature at the end
Cheaper methods like printing or vinyl are fast and affordable, but they often look flat and temporary. While prints fade, crack, or peel with time, embroidery holds its form. Handstitching is beautiful but it takes a lot of time.
With machine embroidery, sky is the limit. I wanted designs that looked as beautiful but belonged on garments people actually sew and wear every day. That will stitch out fast, not frustrate my machine and but still look aesthetically pleasing.
And also carry meaning for you. Embroidery turns a simple hoodie or t-shirt or my bag into something that feels personal and meaningful.
I’ve written hundreds of sewing tutorials for sewguide.com. I take that same passion and apply it to every motif I digitize for Thread Motifs. Every design here is digitized by me and stitch-tested on a real embroidery machine.
This shop is for home sewists like me — people who spend evenings at the sewing machine, collect fabric they “definitely have a plan for,” and understand how special it feels to finish something with your own hands. And who want to embroider their fabric for the love of fabric, thread and texture.
I care a lot about the technical side too, because I know how frustrating embroidery can be when a design looks pretty on screen but stitches poorly on fabric. Every design is created to stitch cleanly and work well on real sewing projects — not just in theory.
